Childhood and personal life
Khabib was born on 20 September 1988 at Kirova Village in Kizilyurtovsky District in Russia. His father’s name is Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, a war veteran and decorated athlete. Khabib was the second of the three children. He has older brother Mogamed and younger sister Amina.
He started his world with fighting, specifically the combat training from a young age. When he and his family moved to Makhachkala in 2001, he started the serious training in wrestling. When he turned 15, he joined judo classes and wouldn’t stop since then. He admitted that he met difficulties to transit from wrestling to judo. His father however supported him from zero to hero. When he turned 17, his father began training him the combat sambo, which he would use in the official UFC events to overcome his opponents.
In September 2008, he made his debut in the MMA world.
He started his career with such achievements. He secured four wins, which three wins were attained in only a day.
The next month, he attained the inaugural Atrium Cup tournament champion at Moscow.
In his three years of MMA career, he won 12 matches. Then in 2011, he managed to compete for the ProFC promotion. He has won every match since then.
