Khabib’s New Project in the MMA World

Khabib has seen a lot of potential in Usman Nurmagomedov. as you’ve probably guessed right, he is Khabib’s relative who is going to follow his step. Khabib Nurmagomedov claimed that he has been developing his new project in the world of MMA. It is about a MMA project which promotes his cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov in the free world competitive events.

According to Khabib, Usman has a lot of potential to be the champion. The young fighter was born on 17 April 1998, at Kizilyurt, Dagestan. Currently, Usman is competing in the welter division 70 kg. As Khabib said, he has such an amazing record: 9-0-0. As UFC fans, we must agree that this record itself shows a lot of potential from the respective fighters. He is now currently fighting under the umbrella of Gorilla Fighting Championship or GFC.

Khabib stated that he planned to train Usman for a year in the GF. Then in 2021, he would bring Usman to debut in the UFC. Of course, there would be terms that Usman need to follow and cope. First things first, the 181 cm tall welter fighter did not have any injury that could prevent his career. Meanwhile, Khabib has set the agendas and plans for Usman.

Usman has just started his career in the MMA professional world in 2017. His discipline is wrestling. He then joined with Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father.

From there, he has been developing his martial arts of muay thai and sambo which were introduced by Khabib. Usman won over Imran Abdiev back then on March 25 2017. At that time, it was also his debut.

If he manages to join the UFC, he will be the fourth Dagestan fighter who joined the biggest professional MMA organization.

Since Khabib uploaded his recent activities with Usman, there have been many people who are speculating if Usman will follow Khabib’s path. The upper fight of Khabib is one of the most controversial things discussed by the MMA legends. For instance, Fedor Emelianenko criticized Khabib for focusing on the upper. FYI, Khabib will take on Tony Ferguson in the UFC 249 on April 18, 2020.

Although Khabib has such a great record, Emelianenko couldn’t hold his opinion. Of course, he respects Khabib as the fighter. With a good intention, Emelianenko encourages Khabib not to underestimate Ferguson. Khabib has such a unique fighting style. Will Usman do too?
